Our Youth Ministry is for teens age 13+ or in 7th-12th grade. They meet each week on Wednesday evenings for Bible Study, and on Friday evenings for Youth Group Hangout. Many activities are planned throughout the month. See the YOUTH page for more information. Join us for a life-changing experience!

Here at Genesis our Youth Ministry is centered around 3 major points that we as a group hold close:

1. We are, first and foremost, about becoming closer to Jesus Christ as Christians, as well as witnessing to others what the Gospel has done for us. Our growing in the faith and the Great Commission are, and should be, the most important part of a Christian’s faith and walk with Christ.

Psalm 119:10-11: “I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Matthew 28:19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I am surely with you always, to the very end of the age.”

2. We believe that solid teaching of Scripture is essential to all Christians’ walk with Christ, especially teenagers. We believe without a solid foundation in the Word of God we become prey to the ways of the World.

2 Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, and correcting and training in righteousness”

3. We also believe that a tight knit community in our group is key to long lasting friendships. We believe that protecting each other and loving each other, no matter what is going on, is key to human life. We also believe in fun as well, since it’s a big part of who we are!

Matthew 22:37-39: Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind‘. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself‘.”

Matthew 18:15-16: “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others alone, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”

Having fun and being together is a huge part of our ministry. We have many events that range from hanging out at the church to going to amusement parks. We also go to Christian concerts like Winter Jam and have parties and lock-ins. There is truly nothing like being together as the church and being the church as we are together.

We meet on Wednesdays at 6:00 to 7:00 PM for our lesson night. This is when the teaching is presented as well as many of the events we have throughout the month.

We also meet on Friday night for a fun night, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. This night is mainly geared around the ability to hang out and get to know one another. We play some video games, pool, foosball, and hang out. It’s always the best way to get to know people of the group and become a part of the group.
